Kuma Dog Training is the positive reinforcement dog training company I founded in 2020, located in Mountain View, California. As a certified professional dog trainer, I rely on relationship-based training methods to solve behavioral issues in pet dogs. Rather than prescribing training drills, I encourage owners to play specific training games with their dogs. These games build trust and facilitate better communication between the dogs and owners, leading to lasting solutions. Playfulness and curiosity drives my mission to maximize quality of life for dogs and their human caretakers.
In inventing Kuma Dog Training’s visual identity, I wanted to communicate to prospective clients that Kuma Dog Training isn’t your typical 1-hour-per-week formulaic dog training program. I work hand-in-hand with each owner to craft a training solution that works for their lifestyles. Bright colors and the simple lines of the logomark express the curiosity, playfulness, and flexibility that I want my clients to embrace. The wordmark is based on Comfortaa, a font with a rounded, almost childlike quality, to encourage dog owners to approach teaching their dogs with the same patience they would teach a human child, who is still learning the ways of the world.
